the battle for everything
Silence in war brings those crucial elements to the table that can make or break any initiative – surprise and dread, not unlike the eye of a storm. But in matters of the heart, silence wins us nothing in the trenches. It drives wedges and digs us a deep hole where we sit in the heat and pray for rain – for any recompense – but those letters just never come. That photo you've been carrying around in your pocket and in your mind just gets worn around the edges. Folded in places you swore you'd never, you're not sure you'd recognize that person if paths were to cross again. You're not even certain you'd recognize yourself.
